The superb Ashley Ramsden –

and the great Duncan Mackintosh –

performing their Rumi Tour in London!

The tour celebrates the 800th anniversary of the birth of Jelaluddin Rumi, the Sufi poet and mystic – read my previous post about Ashley and the tour here, and one of Rumi’s poems here. And if you’re in London looking for the best use of your evening, come along either tonight, or on Sunday which is Rumi’s actual birthday so the celebration will be especially warm and colourful!

David Miliband’s first speech to the UN –

Climate change is the “greatest long-term threat” to achieving global equality, UK Foreign Secretary David Miliband has told the United Nations. Mr Miliband said although all countries will be affected by climate change, the poorest people within the poorest countries will suffer the most. He called on the richest countries to take the greatest action to combat climate change. He made the comments in his first speech to the UN as foreign secretary.
