“After everything is the silence at the centre”

Marcel Marceau, the great mime artist, has died aged 84 – he believed in ‘the weight of the heart’ and ‘of the soul’. Inspired by Charlie Chaplin as a young boy, he reminds me of the power of gesture. Here is an interview and small tribute from the BBC. This story stood out for me because I once met a couple of his colleagues, one of whom was quoted in the accompanying article. You can see some gorgeous pictures of the performer here.
