Good parody

For those of you unfamiliar with UK retailing, the clip parodies the UK’s largest supermarket chain, Tesco, which uses in its marketing the strapline, ‘Every Little Helps’, to extol all the little thoughtful measures it takes to benefit the customer. Via Treehugger.

The insight that small, local shops are the more likely to enable conversation strikes me as one of the more poignant criticisms of the localisation advocates – but there are others. See, for example, the New Economics Foundation for their take on ‘ghost/clone town’ Britain.
